RURAL ART GALLERY 2009-2024
Międzynarodowy, społeczny projekt oddolnej galerii sztuki współtworzony z mieszkańcami mikroregionów. To artystyczno-inwentaryzacyjne działanie rozpoczęte w 2009 r. w obrębie programu Europejskie Regiony Kultury – EROC. Aktywności odbywały się w Polsce w województwie Kujawsko-Pomorskim, w Finlandii w regionie South Ostrobothnia i w regionie Kornwalii w Wielkiej Brytanii. W 2024 kontynuowane podczas rezydencji artystycznej w Mother’s Milk Art, Kansas, USA.
Równie istotny jest dla mnie aspekt archiwizowania przestrzeni jak i zaangażowanie społeczności reprezentującej dane miejsce. „Kuratorami” stają się więc mieszkańcy terenów, na których prowadzę działania. To oni wskazują interesujące w ich opinii miejsca oraz obiekty, które następnie ja prezentuję w sposób, jaki stosuje się w typowej galerii sztuki: ramy od obrazów, podesty, barierki. Kolekcja zdjęć dokumentujących moje działania site-specific, prezentuje ideę zewnętrznej galerii dziedzictwa natury i tradycji obszarów pozamiejskich, transformując przyjętą formułę galerii sztuki, jako zamkniętego obiektu instytucjonalnego, selekcjonującego wybrane dzieła. Projekt wzbogacany jest kolejnymi ciekawymi obiektami, z każdego pobytu twórczego.

Pierwszym terenem moich działań stała się wieś Lucim w Polsce.
To miejsce dla mnie szczególnie symboliczne, ze względu na studiowanie w pracowniach prof. Bogdana Chmielewskiego, Witolda Chmielewskiego, Wiesława Smużnego, którzy jako Grupa Działania/Grupa 111, realizowali tam awangardowe „Działania Lucimskie” w latach 70-90.

RURAL ART GALLERY 2009-2024
An international, community-based grassroots art gallery project co-created with micro-regional residents. It is an artistic and stocktaking activity launched in 2009 within the European Regions of Culture – EROC programme. Activities took place in Poland in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeship, in Finland in the South Ostrobothnia region and in the Cornwall region of the UK. Continued in 2024 during an artist residency at Mother’s Milk Art, Kansas, USA.
Equally important to me is the aspect of archiving the space as well as engaging with the community representing the site. ‘Curators’ therefore become the inhabitants of the areas where I am active. It is they who point out the places and objects they find interesting, which I then present in the same way as in a typical art gallery: picture frames, platforms, railings. A collection of photographs documenting my site-specific activities, presents the idea of an outdoor gallery of the heritage of nature and the tradition of non-urban areas, transforming the accepted formula of the art gallery as a closed institutional facility, selecting selected works. The project is enriched by further interesting objects, from each creative residency.

The first area of my activities became the village of Lucim in Poland. It is a particularly symbolic place for me, due to my studies in the studios of Prof. Bogdan Chmielewski, Witold Chmielewski, Wiesław Smużny, who, as Action Group/Group 111, realised the avant-garde ‘Lucim Activities’ there in the 1970s-90s.
