RURAL ART GALLERY 2009-2025
Międzynarodowy, oddolny projekt galerii sztuki współtworzony z mieszkańcami mikroregionu.
Istotą projektu jest zarówno aspekt archiwizacji przestrzeni, jak i zaangażowanie społeczności reprezentującej dane miejsce. Mieszkańcy terenów, na których realizuję projekt stają się „kuratorami”. To oni wskazują interesujące ich miejsca i obiekty. Następnie staram się je zaprezentować w taki sam sposób, jak w typowej galerii sztuki: ramy obrazów, podesty, barierki. Zbiór fotografii dokumentujących moje działania site-specific prezentuje ideę obszarów pozamiejskich jako dziedzictwa ludzkiej tradycji. To swoista inwentaryzacja miejsc, które w najbliższych dekadach zmienią się lub całkowicie znikną. Jest to również polemika z konwencją formuły galerii sztuki jako instytucji wydzielającej, selekcjonującej to co dochodowe.
Projekt wzbogacają kolejne interesujące obiekty z indywidualnych rezydencji twórczych.

To artystyczna inwentaryzacja, działanie rozpoczęte w 2009 r. w obrębie programu Europejskie Regiony Kultury – EROC. Aktywności odbywały się w Polsce w województwie Kujawsko-Pomorskim, w Finlandii w regionie South Ostrobothnia i w regionie Kornwalii w Wielkiej Brytanii. W 2024 kontynuowane podczas rezydencji artystycznej w Mother’s Milk Art, Kansas, USA. W 2025 projekt jest w Niemczech podczas rezydencji artystycznej Denk-und Produktionsort Libken „into the fields” dzięki stypendium Culture Moves Europe, Goethe-Institut oraz Kultura Polska na Świecie przyznanym przez Instytut Adama Mickiewicza.
Pierwszym terenem moich działań w 2009 r. stała się wieś Lucim w Polsce.To miejsce dla mnie szczególnie symboliczne, ze względu na studiowanie w pracowniach prof. Bogdana Chmielewskiego, Witolda Chmielewskiego, Wiesława Smużnego, którzy jako Grupa Działania/Grupa 111, realizowali tam awangardowe „Działania Lucimskie” w latach 70-90.

RURAL ART GALLERY 2009-2025
An international, grassroots art gallery project co-created with the residents of a micro-region.
The essence of the project is both the aspect of archiving space and the involvement of the community representing a given place. The inhabitants of the areas where I carry out the project become “curators”. They are the ones who indicate the places and objects they are interested in. Then I try to present them in the same way as in a typical art gallery: picture frames, platforms, railings. The collection of photographs documenting my site-specific activities presents the idea of non-urban areas as a heritage of human tradition. It is a kind of inventory of places that will change or disappear completely in the coming decades. It is also a polemic against the convention of the art gallery as an institution that separates and selects what is profitable.
The project is enriched by more interesting objects from individual creative residences.

It is an artistic and stocktaking activity launched in 2009 within the European Regions of Culture – EROC programme. Activities took place in Poland in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeship, in Finland in the South Ostrobothnia region and in the Cornwall region of the UK. Continued in 2024 during an artist residency at Mother’s Milk Art, Kansas, USA. In 2025, I will realize it in Germany during the artistic residency Denk-und Produktionsort Libken “into the fields” thanks to a scholarship from Culture Moves Europe, Goethe-Institut and Polish Culture in the World awarded by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
The first area of my activities became the village of Lucim in Poland. It is a particularly symbolic place for me, due to my studies in the studios of Prof. Bogdan Chmielewski, Witold Chmielewski, Wiesław Smużny, who, as Action Group/Group 111, realised the avant-garde ‘Lucim Activities’ there in the 1970s-90s.
