Czwarta dekada życia, to czas mierzenia się z efektami naszych dotychczasowych wyborów. Na tym etapie widać już rezultaty. Nie ma prób generalnych. Sytuacje często ekstremalnie trudne i długotrwałe, przeplatane jedynie krótkimi momentami uniesień. Adekwatną formą zwizualizowania tego stanu wydała się górska kolejka. Jednak perspektywa rozrywki zmienia się, kiedy znajdujemy się w wagoniku. Patrząc na lunapark z dystansu, struktura toru kolejki przypomina pętlę nieskończoności. Gdyby „niebiletowany” cykl przejazdu, nasz wagonik mógłby jeździć w kółko. Nie ma bocznego toru czy zajezdni. W życiu raz pokonujemy kolejne wzniesienia siłą rozpędu, kiedy indziej, stajemy i musimy na nowo uruchomić wewnętrzny silnik. Domek jest przeskalowany. Jest makietą bloku, w którym się wychowałam. Już nie wchodzę w jego przestrzeń, ale oglądam go z dystansu.

The fourth decade of life, is a time to measure ourselves against the effects of our past choices. At this stage, you can already see the results. There is no rehearsals. Situations are often extremely difficult and prolonged, interspersed with only brief moments of elation. A roller coaster seemed an adequate way to visualize this condition. However, the entertainment perspective changes once you are in the carriage. Looking at the funfair from a distance, the structure of the train track resembles an infinity loop. If we „unticketed” the ride cycle, our wagon could go round and round. There is no side track or depot. In life, once we climb hills with momentum, other times, we stall and have to restart the internal engine. The house is a scale down. It is a maquette of the block of flats I grew up in. I no longer enter its space, but observe it from a distance.
