SOUVENIR FROM THE TRIP 2015
The burnt hole in the carpet, in the shape of East Prussia, refers to the process of looting after 1945 in the current area of Warmia and Mazury. The object perversely refers to the motif of a hearth and home. However, it evokes those by which the Russian liberation army warmed itself, inside looted cottages. The feathers floating in the houses are an image of looting, which has been raised to the motif of a souvenir of the trip, the so-called glass ball with flakes, which contains a figurine from the collection of the Museum of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. We can find disturbing parallels to the current situation in Ukraine.
