What is the universal definition of happiness in a world dominated by materialism? Can this desire to possess provide happiness, calm fears and emptiness? Spirituality is difficult to grasp, so by following the simplest way of consuming reality, we decide that material assets provide happiness. Research from 2020 indicates that happiness is largely genetically determined. The research additionally shows (B.Wojciszke 2020) that a person’s sense of happiness largely depends on their personality, which is very difficult to change, as well as the wealth or culture of the country of residence. Does this mean that nothing can be done about our happiness? It can, because there is a third group of determinants – our own actions here and now, i.e. flow experience. The object built from lottery tickets is a pretext for reflections on luck, during which I ask my interlocutors to gild the calf by circling lucky numbers with a gold pen.
